Shakshuka Israeli Recipe

Step by step on how to make Shakshuka (Israeli Food). Photos and videos included.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp Olive oil
1/2 medium purple onion chopped
1 Clove garlic, mince
2 Tomatoes diced
1 Can 8oz Tomato paste
1 tsp Cumin
1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
3 eggs
1/2 tbsp fresh chopped Chives
1 pan

Method:
Chop all the ingredients: Onions, Chives and Tomatoes

Heat your frying pan with olive oil for a 1 minute, add the chopped onions and garlic into the pan. Let this cook for 2 minutes on medium heat.

Add Freshly chopped Tomatoes on top of the Onions and let it sit for 30 Seconds without turning.

Stir Tomatoes and Onions let this cook for 1 minute.

Add 1 Can of Tomato Paste. Spread the paste to cover the chopped simmered Onions and Tomatoes. Do not stir, let this cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. 6

Add in Salt, Black pepper, Cayenne pepper and Cumin. Stir and let this simmer for 2 minutes on a low heat covered.

Crack open 3 Eggs over the tomato sauce (look at the on photo below). Cover and let it cook for 8 minutes.

Open pan and gently  turn each egg over so it will be fully cooked. Cover pan and let cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Add a few slices of Tomatoes and sprinkle your garnish of chives over the Eggs for  flavor.
